Compliance Dismissal Offenses

There are some violations that may be dismissed at the window if all criteria is met.  Please bring all proof when appearing at the window for possible dismissal.

Expired MVI (Motor Vehicle Inspection) – May be dismissed at window if expired for LESS than 60 days and you provide proof that it was corrected within 20 working days of the citation date or by the initial appearance date.  A $20 dismissal fee is due to the court at the time of dismissal.  You must provide a renewal receipt with all vehicle information listed.

Expired MVR (Motor Vehicle Registration) – May be dismissed at window if registration was corrected within 20 working days of the citation date or by initial appearance date and a late registration fee was paid to the County Tax Assessor-Collector as shown on receipt.  A $20 dismissal fee is due to the court at the time of dismissal.  You must provide the original renewal receipt.

Operate a Motor Vehicle with one or no license plate(s) – May be dismissed at window if the vehicle was properly registered when the offense was committed and the required plates and registration insignia are now displayed on the vehicle.  The vehicle must be present for the court to verify.  A $10 dismissal fee is due to the court at the time of dismissal.

Operate a Motor Vehicle with altered, unclean, or obscured License Plate(s) – May be dismissed at the window if the offense was corrected by the initial appearance date.  The vehicle must be present for the court to verify.  A $10 dismissal fee is due to the court at the time of dismissal.

Fail To Display Driver’s License – Will be dismissed at the window if proof of a valid driver’s license, at the time of the citation, is presented.  A $10 dismissal fee is due to the court at the time of dismissal.

Expired Driver’s License – May be dismissed at the window if the license was renewed within 20 working days of the citation date or by the initial appearance date and the valid driver’s license is presented.  A $20 dismissal fee is due to the court at the time of dismissal.

Failed to Report a Change of Address or Change of Name to the Department of Public Safety on Driver’s License – May be dismissed at the window if this is corrected within 20 working days of the citation date and proof of a valid driver’s license is presented.  A $20 dismissal fee is due to the court at the time of dismissal.

Operate a Motor Vehicle, other than a Commercial Motor Vehicle, with Defective Equipment or in an unsafe condition – May be dismissed at the window if this was corrected by the initial appearance date.  The vehicle must be present to verify.  A $10 dismissal fee is due to the court at the time of dismissal.

Fail to Maintain Financial Responsibility (No Insurance) – Will be dismissed at the window if the vehicle you were driving at the time of the citation had insurance on the date of the citation.  We will call and verify the insurance coverage.  The VEHICLE must be covered during the date and time of the stop.
