Become a Member of JVFD

must be approved by a majority of the officers

Join JVFD as
a volunteer
Requirements for Membership
Any person
18 years or older, is out of high school, of good character, in
good physical condition, and of sound mind may apply for
membership in the Fire and/or EMS divisions of JVFD.
Anyone 16 years or older, has finished their sophomore year of
high school, has successfully completed Junior Members
orientation, and has written permission from a parent or legal
guardian may become a Junior Member.
A member of
JVFD is expected to:
-
Answer
calls, Fire or EMS, depending on their certification, during
their free time or when scheduled to do so
-
must be
advancing towards or have had the equivalent of the Texas State
Fire Fighters Basic Certification and/or Texas Emergency Medical
Technician.

Attend
relevant weekly Tuesday night meetings when possible to obtain
further training and discuss business matters
Meetings:
1st Tuesday
of month: EMS
2nd Tuesday of month: Suppression (Fire)
3rd Tuesday of month: Business
4th Tuesday of month: Rescue Scenarios
(5th Tuesday of month: Eatin' Meetin')
