Congo Street Project

The Congo Street Project is nearing the finish of the design stages. The project will be out to bid in March and the City Council will act on the bid at their April 2024 Council meeting.

Singapore (Senate to Solomon) and Seattle (Solomon to Senate) Street Projects

Starting January 24, 2024 City staff are working with Westwood Engineering to come up with a contract for them to do the design and engineering work for the project. It is anticipated the contract will be ready for the City Council to review and take possible action on at their April 2024 City Council Meeting.

Australia and Solomon Street Projects

Starting January 24, 2024 City staff are working with Gauge Engineering to come up with a contract for them to do the design and engineering work for the project. It is anticipated the contract will be ready for the City Council to review and take possible action on at their March 18, 2024 City Council Meeting.

During the March 18, 2024 City Council meeting the City Council authorized the contract with Gauge Engineering for the design of this project. Design is expected to take approximately 11 months. 

Wastewater Treatment Plant

The White Oak Bayou Wastewater Treatment Plant Project is anticipated to kick off in 2025. As the City is only a part owner in the plant the City will not be involved directly in the project as it occurs on a day-to-day basis. 

Sewer Pipe Replacement (all pre-1980 pipes)

Starting January 24, 2024 City staff are working with Quiddity Engineering to come up with a contract for them to do the design and engineering work for the project. It is anticipated the contract will be ready for the City Council to review and take possible action on at their March 18, 2024 City Council Meeting.

During the March 18, 2024 City Council meeting the Council authorized a contract with Quiddity Engineering for the design, bidding, and project management for the televising. The city will televise all sewer lines int he city. It is expected the design phase the televising will conclude by the end of 2024.

 

The sewer line that starts at Rio Grande and goes along Wall Street and turns up Crawford to Tahoe has been identified as in need of urgent repair. That work has been designed and will be out to bid in February 2024. It is anticipated the contract will be ready for the City Council to review and take possible action on at their March 18, 2024 City Council Meeting.

During the March 18, 2024 City Council meeting the Council awarded the bid for this section of work to C&A Construction LLC at a base bid price of $796,893.44. There are alternative extras that were authorized as well for an additional $94,320 that may be utilized if necessary during construction. Equador Bridge

City staff are evaluating the best firm to do the design work for a new pedestrian/bicycle bridge over the bayou at Equador Street.
